VOGUE

i love vogue. it is the best fashion magazine in my opinion. generally, local fashion magazines feel mediocre and they always seem to be trying to emulate their overseas counterparts. vogue always has the classiest fashion choices, best advertisements, and of course, great articles. plus, it doesnt hurt that it always smell good. there’s always a hint of fragrance on their pages (possibly due to perfume samples on the ads) and what’s there not to love a magazine which looks good, writes good and smells good? it’ll be nice to have a singapore version of vogue.

personally, i love fashion. i think it’s a great way to express yourself individually, to stand out from the everyday crowd. in a way, fashion enables you to think and act creatively, piecing items together to create new looks for yourself. a good sense of style might be imitated, but never duplicated, because in a way, it is inborn. i particularly agree with the quote “clothes maketh the man”. if u look good, u feel good. of course, not everyone will feel the same on this. but again, that’s generally speaking.

i remember coming across a statement made by donatella versace (the scary barbie android who looks like she had too much coke), that “there’s no such thing as bad sense of style, only bad manners”. well, what do u think? personally, i think manners and style dont really seem to mix together. anyhow, fashion is just a part of life, integral for some, unimportant for others. no matter what, it is most important to lead your life filled with happiness, love, purpose, satisfaction and a little money. ha ha.

so what’s your fav magazine, if u had to pick one?

There was a barber and his wife…

no prizes for guessing this. thought it would be good, but it falls short of expectations. at first, the show started off as intriguing, and it made you anticipate what’s gonna come next. the cinematography was dreamy, the characters felt surreal, but the plot was predictable.

and then, the characters started to serenade in cleverly penned musical verses, and oh, you realised, it’s a musical. the songs were interesting at first, but after awhile, they start to repeat. and then, there’s just only so many (there was a barber and his wife)s a human can take in.

in short, it’s just a 2hrs plus tragic musical starring johnny depp, a sucker for odd roles like such.

there was a barber and his wife…

trivia: helena bonham carter (the lady nx to depp), is the wife of the director, tim burton. and i think they make an odd pair of human beings.

sometimes i wonder, do people become more poetic only when they are sad or depressed?

language

french is so beautiful. l’amour, j’adore, belle, amis, Magnifique, Chanson d’amour, balades, romantiques…etc etc. if one could paint a language, french would be c’est Magnifique.

when would i have a french poem that belongs to me?

dead.

my joker is dead. DEAD. so unbelievable.

Heath Ledger passed away on Tuesday.

Details are currently very hazy but it is believed he died of a drug overdose.

His body was found at an apartment on Broome Street in manhattan.

ok, i know the breasts look weird. i personally hate it too. actually i would love it better if its just the face to the shoulders. ha ha.

on another note, my dream phone. no, it’s not the overrated iphone, its the nokia 8800 ARTE.  and its fucking overpriced (pardon my french). merde!

the nokia 8800 sirocco gold isn’t too shabby either.

SIGH.
